Seohyun talked about her departure from SM and her thoughts on Girls' Generation in an interview.
Seohyun recently left SM without renewing her contract. But her departure from SM does not mean that she has left Girls' Generation. Seohyun recited the slogan, "Right now it's Girls' Generation. From now it's Girls' Generation. Forever Girls' Generation."
About her decision to leave SM, she said, "Standing alone doesn't scare me, but I do feel a great deal of responsibility. I feel nervous and excited at the same time. But I don't regret it."
"I was worried of becoming too complacent. I wondered, 'What do I really want to do? How do I want to live the rest of my life?' I wanted to put everything down and start from the beginning, so I made the decision."
Seohyun talked about her life as member of Girls' Generation. She said, "After being together for 15 years, you know each other without having to keep in touch. I like being apart. We lived together for more than 5 years. We learned a lot about each other and had some discord as well. It was an opportunity for growth."
She continued, "I think most people would feel the same way. It was the hardest time of my life. At first, we fought over trivial things. We fought more than a husband and wife would. We had been living in different ways, and we had to learn each other's ways."
"Then after living together for 5 years, we moved out to live with our parents. When I was living with them it was hard, but when we were finally apart, I missed them."
