The new era of Joseon has started! The late 14th c, Goryeo. Abuse of power and corruption made people to leave the government offices and only the corrupted people are left in the high offices. When there seem to be no hope, there are a group of young people who values the meaning of scholar heavily. They are the Sungkyunkwan scholars who have dreams to bring peace to the world and they were the hope of Goryeo. Sambong Jeong DoJeon is one of them. He believed that the old corrupted government should be destroyed and the destiny of scholars is to build an idealistic country. This isn't an ordinary revolution. Jeong Dojeon's meticulous plans for a new future will create a whole new civilization. A politician who will wipe away our tears, the story of his life and destiny unfolds.


Jeong Do Jeon (Cast: Jo Jae Hyeon)

A noble and politician abandoned by Goryeo and a revolutionist who works up from the bottom. He wishes for a country which exists for the sake of its people, but it is unrealized in the country influenced by Neo-Confucianism. In the end, he becomes a close advisor to Lee Seong Gye who overthrew Goryeo and founded a new dynasty under the name of Joseon.

Lee Seong Gye (Cast: Yoo Dong Geun)

A commander of Gabyeolcho, Goryeo’s the most elite troop and also a guarder of border area, Dongbuk-myeon. A future King Taejo in the Joseon Dynasty and also a marginal man who is confused about his identity.

Lee In Im (Cast: Park Young Gyu)

A leader of conservatives and a veteran politician. The tiger sheathes its claws cut Jeong Do Jeon’s political life at a crucial moment.

Choe Yeong (Cast: Seo In Seok)

One of the best generals of Goryeo and the fifth descendant of Choe Yoo Chung, the Grand Scholar of Jiphyeonjeon, the Royal Academy. He promotes to attain his long-cherished desire conquering Liadong peninsula, but he is later beheaded after Wihwado Retreat.

Jeong Mong Joo(Cast Lim Ho)

Jeong Do Jeon’s best friend who turns into his political opponent at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty. A diplomat and a loyal supporter of the Ming dynasty. The last Goryeo person with high principle and constancy who stands against the revolution.
